Self-Paced, Web-Based, On-Demand, Exam, and Subscription (referred to ‘Self-Paced’) Terms and Conditions

 

Cancellation or Changes by Client

  • Self-Paced are non-cancellable and non-refundable.
  • You may not transfer or assign any Self-Paced order.
  • Self-Paced is limited to specific Providers.
  • You will designate specific Self-Paced users and will limit Self-Paced User ID to those users. Unauthorized individuals may not view Self-Paced content at any time.
  • All Self-Paceds are subject to this Agreement.
  • All Self-Paceds are subject to change at any time by Company or the Provider.
  • Self-Paced is for a one-year term from the effective date of Your order or for such other time period as defined by the specific Provider Self-Paced.
  • You are responsible for meeting the minimum system requirements to order any Self-Paced.
  • A Self-Paced offering must be viewed from the country from which it was activated.
  • Unauthorized recording, copying, or transmission of Self-Paced Content is strictly prohibited.

PRODUCT EXCEPTIONS/PROCESS

IBM Self-Paced and Web-Based Training

Your digital learning course content is available for 30 days from the date of purchase using your enrollment key. The self-paced format of the digital learning course provides you the opportunity to access the content at your convenience, from any location, and at your own pace. It is available 24 hours a day.

IMPORTANT: LAB ACCESS TIME DETAILS

If you have enrolled in a digital learning course and the course requires a lab, the remote lab system access is allocated on a first come, first serve basis. If the course has a hands-on lab, the duration of the lab will be specified in days within the course, with a maximum number of days not to exceed 14 days. The hands-on lab duration varies by course. When you are not using the remote lab system, ensure that you suspend your remote lab to maximize your hours available to use the remote lab system.

  • If you have not activated the self-paced virtual class, during the 30-day term, it can be transferred or re-assigned, but is still required to be completed within the original term period.

Do not start your lab until you are ready to use your lab time effectively and dedicate time to complete the hands-on labs using the remote lab environment.

Before you enroll, please review the system requirements to ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for a given course. To access and consume a Digital Learning Course from IBM, your workstation must meet the following requirements:

  • A modern web browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.
  • A good network connection for connecting to Virtual Machines. This means:
    • At least 1.2 Mbps for each concurrent browser session with a Virtual Machine.
    • Low latency (150ms or less) to the region where your Virtual Machines are located.
  • Use Connectivity Checker to test your browser and network access.
  • Use Speed test to test your bandwidth and latency to our remote lab provider regions.

After you are enrolled in this course, you will not be able to cancel your enrollment. You are billed for the course once your registration has been processed. Self-Paced Virtual Classes are non-refundable. Once you purchase a Self-Paced Virtual Class, you will be charged the full amount.

After you receive confirmation that you are enrolled, you will be sent instructions to access your course, material, and remote labs. A confirmation email will contain your online link, enrollment key, and additional instructions for starting the course.

Mirantis On Demand

If you are taking a Mirantis On Demand (self-paced) class, you have 365 days to complete the course after we provide access to the course.

After you are enrolled in this course, you will not be able to cancel your enrollment. You are billed for the course once your registration has been processed. Once you purchase an On Demand Class, you will be charged the full amount. On Demand Classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Exception: On Demand Training accounts can be transferred to a different user/email as long as the transfer request is received within 48 hours of account activation and the original user has not started progress.

After you receive confirmation that you are enrolled, you will be sent instructions to access your course material and remote labs. A confirmation email will contain instructions for starting the course. Transferring or sharing your login credentials with anyone else is a violation of the licensing agreement and is subject to legal action. If an account is found to be shared by multiple users the account will be banned, access will be revoked and it will be deemed non-refundable.

Lab access for Mirantis On Demand classes is provided for 10 days after you launch the first lab.

Taxes

When you purchase any Service or product from Udacity, you agree to pay not only the applicable fee, but also all applicable sales, use, value added, transaction taxes, or other government-required fees and charges that Udacity determines it is required to collect (“Taxes”). Please note that Udacity will calculate the “estimated Taxes” at checkout and that, upon confirmation, you may be responsible for a different total. All applicable taxes are calculated based on the billing information you provide us at the time of purchase. You hereby authorize Udacity to modify and charge any Taxes owed by you upon confirming the tax rate. Please also note that where VAT collection is required, if any, VAT will be calculated and added at checkout. You hereby agree to indemnify and hold Udacity harmless against any and all claims by any tax authority for any underpayment of any Taxes, including, without limitation, VAT, and any related penalties and/or interest.
