Overview

This highly focused 2-day course provides a detailed understanding of how to implement and administer NetApp MultiStore. NetApp MultiStore allows for the partitioning of a physical NetApp storage controller into multiple logical storage controllers. The virtual storage controllers (vFilers) may be used in enterprise or service provider environments to provide secure separation of tenant/department resources and management may be delegated on a per vFiler basis. Each vFiler unit may be authorized to serve over protocols such as CIFS, NFS and iSCSI and data protection and disaster recovery may also be implemented on a per vFiler basis. Upon completion of the course, the student will understand secure implementation, configuration and management of vFiler units.

Skills Gained

  • Upon completion of this course, the student will understand product placement for NetApp MultiStore. Additionally, the student will understand the process for secure implementation of MultiStore and how various NetApp technologies integrate with MultiStore to enhance data management. Practical lab exercises augment and reinforce the courseware to provide a unified curriculum.

Who Can Benefit

  • This course is intended for storage administrators, implementers and engineers.

Prerequisites

  • Course attendees should possess an intermediate knowledge of NetApp storage and Data ONTAP.
